EnviroPad and EnviroPad Rail are tested to EN ISO 11925-2 for reaction to fire performance

When we set out to test EnviroPad and EnviroPad Rail spill containment mats for reaction to fire performance, we discovered something unexpected: no existing standard applies to this type of product in this application. No benchmark. No precedent. Nothing to test against.

We had two options: (1) wait for someone else to define it, or (2) define it ourselves.

We chose the second.

What we did

EnviroPad and EnviroPad Rail were independently tested for reaction to fire performance and achieved:

✔ Classification to E_FLin accordance with EN 13501-1
✔ Tested to EN ISO 11925-2 for reaction to fire performance
✔ Demonstrated controlled flame spread and no ignition from flaming droplets under test conditions

Here’s the bit we’re genuinely proud of. This wasn’t us scraping through an existing checklist. This was us building the checklist for a category that didn’t have one before.

Why fire safety matters

Specifications and tenders are increasingly requiring a reaction-to-fire classification as standard. When that requirement lands on your desk, you have two kinds of answers available to you in this category: an untested assurance you’re asked to take on trust, or an independently issued classification that’s on record.

With EnviroPad and EnviroPad Rail, it’s the latter.

By setting this benchmark, we haven’t just raised the bar for our own products. We’ve raised it for the entire category. Everyone else now has something to measure up to.
