Green Rhino presented with the King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation
Green Rhino proudly welcomed Clare, Countess of Euston, His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk, to its headquarters today for the formal presentation of The King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation, the United Kingdom’s most prestigious business accolade.
The Countess of Euston, representing His Majesty the King, presented Green Rhino with the official Grant of Appointment and a commemorative crystal trophy, formally recognising the company’s outstanding achievement in innovation.
This presentation marks the culmination of a remarkable journey for Green Rhino, which was first announced as a recipient of the award in May 2025. The King’s Awards for Enterprise celebrate outstanding UK businesses demonstrating excellence in innovation, international trade and sustainable development.

A Prestigious Recognition of Innovation
Receiving a King’s Award is a tremendous honour and a significant milestone in Green Rhino’s history. The awards are known for their rigorous eligibility criteria and highly selective process, with only a small number of businesses across the UK achieving this recognition each year. Each application undergoes careful and detailed scrutiny to ensure that only organisations demonstrating exceptional and sustained achievement are honoured.
“The King’s Award for Enterprise is the most distinguished recognition a UK company can receive,” said Ross Atkin, Founder and Managing Director of Green Rhino. “Being presented with this award by the Lord-Lieutenant is a proud moment for the entire Green Rhino team. It acknowledges the world-class innovation we have created here in Suffolk and reinforces our mission to make pollution prevention practical, effective and globally accessible.”

Recognising Innovation: The EnviroPad and Neutroilize™ Technology
The award recognises Green Rhino’s groundbreaking Neutroilize™ Smart Fabric Technology, the science behind the market-leading EnviroPad hydrocarbon absorbing mat. This patented innovation transforms hazardous liquids such as oils and fuels into a dry, solid mass, preventing pollution at its source.
Developed and manufactured in Suffolk, EnviroPad has redefined how industries such as construction, utilities, energy and rail manage environmental pollution. The latest version, EnviroPad 5.0, launched in 2024, is designed to work effectively with both traditional and bio-based fuels and oils.
Since its introduction, EnviroPad has been adopted by major contractors around the world and is now in use on five continents, from large-scale UK infrastructure projects to remote locations such as Scott Base in Antarctica.

A Proud Moment for Suffolk Innovation
The presentation ceremony brought together members of the Green Rhino team, local dignitaries and invited guests to celebrate this extraordinary achievement. It also served as a reminder of the innovation, craftsmanship and environmental leadership emerging from Suffolk and making an impact across the globe.
“This award belongs to every member of our team,” added Ross Atkin. “It is a reflection of our shared passion for innovation and sustainability, and a moment of pride not just for Green Rhino, but for Suffolk as a hub of pioneering environmental technology.”
